Are you getting ready to bring home a new little bundle of joy? Moms to be often go through a "nesting" period, preparing the home for the new addition. Make sure that you are the only one using your home to nest!
I can't even imagine having a rodent infested home when I am preparing to bring my new baby home from the hospital. Keeping my house clean and safe from infestation is the first step that I am going to take toward baby proofing.
Soon I will be bringing home my newborn from the hospital and, of course, I've been busy doing the whole "nesting" thing and have done everything that I can think of to prepare our home for the newest addition to the family. You may be wondering exactly what I did to prepare my house? Mouse proofing of course! My plan with the new little one is to hang out downstairs during the days. That's where his nursery is and that is where it is the most quiet, away from my other noise-makers and pets. Much to my dismay, the other day I noticed a few mouse droppings on the floor in the utility room. Putting my detective skills to work, I was led to the living room where I would be playing on the floor with my new bundle of joy, changing him, and bedding him down. Sure enough, I found more droppings along the couch, the rug, and the wall. I knew that this was not going to be acceptable for a newborn. Not only are rodents gross because of the droppings they leave everywhere, they can carry diseases and cause allergies due to their dander, which is especially concerning to a brand new immune system.
I am usually prepared when it comes to ridding our home of rodents, but with the preparation and planning for a new baby, a few things have slipped by me. The good news is that I live right down the street from a handy hardware store where I get my wonder product, Fresh Cab. When I got to the store, they had 2 boxes left - perfect! I love having the reliability of an all-natural rodent repellent, especially with kids and pets running around the house, and now a new baby that will rely on me for his safety and security. Life couldn't get any better!
