5 Household Threats to Your Pets - Don't Let Pest Control Endanger Your BFF

As you may already know, Earth-Kind designs products that are environmentally conscious, extremely effective, and safe for your family & pets.  We understand the impact we have on your families and the environment, as well as the importance of that responsibility.  Although Earth-kind works hard to do our part protecting your pets and family, there are other precautions that you can take yourself to keep your pets safe from harmful poisons.  Here are some common household and outdoor items that can affect your animals:
  1. Plants - Plants like azaleas, mistletoe, and lilies, among others, are poisonous to your pets and should be kept out of reach.  Try using hanging planters or keeping them in areas where your pet doesn't go.
  2. Chocolate - Many people already know chocolate contains a poison that is harmful to dogs and cats.  This poison is found in asthma medication for humans and should not be exposed to your animals, as it will have a different, harmful effect on them.
  3. Rodent Poisons - These toxins are not just harmful to rodents, but other animals and people too.  Keep these dangerous chemicals away from curious children or pets. Remember, if your pet eats a rodent affected by these poisons, they will also suffer the harmful effects.  Using Fresh Cab Natural Rodent Repellent eliminates these safety concerns!
  4. Lawn & Garden Chemicals - Chemicals such as plant food, fertilizer, and mulch can be potentially deadly to your animal. These things are easily accessible to your pets when they are outside.  Pets should be supervised when these products are around, or applied to your lawn or garden.
  5. Insecticides - I was shocked to learn that over-the-counter flea and tick medications are toxic to animals. Pet owners should always go to their vet to get prescription medication for their animals.
I like to think of the saying, "Well prepared is half way there," when it comes to my BFF's (Best Furry Friend) safety.  By knowing what common household items are potentially dangerous, I can be well prepared when protecting my BFF and keep them out of harm's way.
