Why
are
rodents
trying
to
move
in
with
you?
Wouldn't
they
be
happier
in
a
pastoral
field
someplace
far
away
from
all
the
hustle
and
bustle
of
modern
life?
Wild
animals
belong
out
in
the
wild,
don't
they?
Aren't
they
even
called
"field
mice"
after
all??
Sadly,
while
we
might
like
to
think
of
rodents
as
wild
animals
that
belong
outdoors
(hopefully
far
away
outdoors),
they
are
classified
as
commensal
creatures,
from
the
English
word
meaning
"sharing
of
food."
Commensalism
is
described
as
a
relationship
between
two
organisms,
where
one
benefits
and
the
other
experiences
neither
positive
nor
negative
effects.
To
say

We
believe
mice
deserve
a
home
too,
but
not
in
our
house!
Rodents
pose
a
very
real
danger
to
people
when
they
move
into
your
home.
They
can
cause
dramatic
problems
such
as
fatal
diseases
or
damaging
electrical
wiring
resulting
in
a
house
fire,
or
more
subtle
problems
such
as
stealing
away
a
pet's
food
or
chewing
holes
in
personal
items.
Whatever
effect
they
have
on
your
home,
odds
are,
it's
undesirable.
Despite
these
drawbacks,
it
can
still
be
unsettling
to
feel
as
if
the
only
options
you
have
are
to
either
learn
to

them,
or
set

vicious

Spring

Don't

one
of
the
many
that
will

your

camper,

to
find
it
destroyed
by
mouse

and

This

the
fun,
and

of
year
when
we
all

the
itch
to
take
out
the

unpack
our

or

But
let
me

it

them
stinky,
messy,
and
completely
unbearable.

Fresh

Natural
Rodent
Repellent
works
so
well
at
getting
rid
of
rodents,
we
sometimes
feel
inspired,
moved,
compelled
even
to
share
our
joy.
Sometimes
we
dance
a
little
jig,
sometimes
we
catch
ourselves
humming
a
little
jingle,
"So
easy,
so
nice,
to
chase
away
the
mice,
Fresh

or,
at
times
like
these,
we
begin
speaking
in
verse.
This
one
is
from
Becky,
our
Director

Eek!
A
mouse
in
my

It
is

a
nest
with
my
blouse.
Surely
I
could

it
with

But
I
don't
like
to
hear
that
'snap'!
Alas!
I
will

Since
1970,
April
22
has
been
widely
known
as
Earth
Day.
Inspired
by Vietnam
protests,
Wisconsin
Senator
Gaylord
Nelson
sought
to
organize
a
"teach-in"
about
environmental
concerns,
hoping
to
channel
the
energy
of
a
generation
of
protesters
toward
creating
national
awareness
and
policy
to
protect
the
environment.
It
worked.
After
Earth
Day
1970,
the
Environmental
Protection
Agency
(EPA)
was
created,
along
with
the
Clean
Air,
Clean
Water,
and
Endangered
Species
Acts.
Earth
Day
has
since
become
one
of
the
largest
and
most
widely
celebrated
days,
with
more
than
half
a
billion
people
observing
it
each
year.

Greeting

Fresh

Earth-Day
is
the
perfect
time
to
share
why
I
started
this
company,
rather
than
just
how
we
are
‘green’
or
earth
friendly. Being
green
is
secondary
really. I
think
every
successful,
lasting
company,
is
built
first
from
a
vision
that
encompasses
the
why,
as
much
as
the
how
and
what.
Here’s
my
why:
I
wanted
to
create
a
NEW
kind
of
company.
A
company
that
would
solve
natural
problems
in
a
natural
way.
Without
the
use
of
poisons,
or
plastics
in
formulations
or
packaging.
I’ve
always
questioned
myself
why
I
would
buy
a
product
that
runs
out
in
a
weeks,

"The
best

of

This
frequently
quoted
line
comes
from
Robert
Burns'
poem,
"To
A

April
is
National
Poetry

Started
in
1996,
National
Poetry

seeks

the
visibility
and
availability
of
poetry
in
popular
culture
while
acknowledging
and
celebrating
poetry..."
according
to
the
Academy
of
American
Poets
website.
Many
poets
are
inspired
by
everyday
experiences,
so
it
stands
to
reason
that
since
rodents
are
such
common
critters,
they
pop
up
in
a
number
of
poems.
Have
you
ever
considered
a
mouse
a
muse?
There
are
certainly

of
words

Easter

my
favorite

Partly,

The

My
kids
recently

if
they

My
first
reaction

not
apprehension
that
I

rather,
