Believe it or not, rodents are similar to us in many ways. We've seen charming chipmunks, rascally rats, and well-meaning mice in movies, cartoons, and children's books, but the human-like qualities given to these fictional characters may not be that far from reality.

Now, I may be a “tough guy” biker, but unexpectedly having one of these vile creatures surprise me like that did rattle me. Of course, I usually would have 20+ feet of cultivator or combine header to pay attention to, so swatting at a mouse or trying to open a door to kick it out could lead to an equipment disaster quickly.

I had about 200 plants started in my 8 x 12 lean-to. They were all in the 4 leaf stage and ready to transplant. I eagerly transplanted them, recalling the great care that had been taken to get them to this stage.
The next morning, I made some coffee and ventured out the 50 yards to tend to my seedlings and adjust the heat as needed. I walked in and EVERY last tomato plant was eaten down to within 1/4 of its roots. Rogue mice had made their way into my greenhouse!
"Mice are masterful, they're cunning," says Block and will sneak into your home. Chewing on wires is pleasurable for mice because their teeth are constantly growing, but creates a fire hazard in your home.

A friend of mine called, frantic to tell me that she suspected there was a rat in her dryer vent. Before going over to investigate, I asked her what was going on and why she thought a rat had made its way in.

Ok, so, Fresh Cab may not solve all of the World's problems, but it can absolutely get rid of mice - guaranteed! Did you know mice have more than twice as many olfactory receptor genes as humans? That means that while Fresh Cab smells nice to us, it overwhelms their delicate senses, causing them to avoid the area.

she discovered a mouse living in her grill, which was now living in her apartment. She thought something was going on when she found odd piles of dirt in the flower pots. She could never find any rodent feces, as it was the same color as the dirt, to narrow it down to a squirrel or rat. The mouse had also gotten into the bag of dirt and bird seed that was sitting just inside the door of the balcony.

April is a month we recognize or celebrate so many things, including: National Poetry Month, National Pest Management Month, National Autism Awareness Month, and how could we forget National Grilled Cheese Month!
We covered all of these worthy topics last year in blogs and wanted to take a look back at them this year.

Mothballs are small balls of chemical pesticide and deodorant, namely paradichlorobenzene and naphthalene. Used in solid form, such as a mothball, these chemicals evaporate into a gas which is toxic and kills or repels many pests. If these chemicals are combined when in liquid form, they can damage the very materials they are meant to protect. The toxic effects of these chemicals are not limited to household pests however, and mothballs can be extremely dangerous to pets and people, especially small children.

No matter how long you have had mice or rats living with your chickens they probably wore out their welcome the day they came. So, how do you keep them out, you ask? The only way I know is by following several important steps in conjunction with using Fresh Cab natural rodent repellent.
I attended a crab feed at Phillips Seafood with a large group from Ernst & Young ( delish!) and was introduced to Berger Cookies by Gil Genn, our Government relations partner.

No matter where you live, this is the season of renewal and many are ready to plant seeds and grow something. Farming is no longer relegated to rural America. Neither are mice.

When you see signs of rodents, follow the CDC's instructions for cleaning up after rodents to prevent the risk of disease. Place Fresh Cab pouches in these areas to repel rats and mice in the future.

I did notice that you've put out some new kind of decor all over the place, odd looking little pouches that say Fresh Cab on them. I saw them in each room and closet, even in the attic and basement.
