Do you hear what I hear? The sound of school bells ringing!
Back to school is an exciting time of year for kids and adults alike. Adults are eager for their children to learn new things and progress to the next level of their education and development while kids can't wait to see their friends and resume school year activities. Some families are way ahead of the curve and already had all of the new school year's supplies ready months ago - others are scrambling to do last minute shopping. If you find yourself in the latter category, scrambling to get ready for classes to start, you may find yourself feeling a little more stressed than excited about the beginning of the school year. Remember, kids may be feeling stressed out too!
Here are a few tips to help ease the transition from a season of summer slacking to a studious school year:

Stay positive- Kids will often mimic their parents' attitudes.

Create routines- Following a routine at home will make your life easier, as well as help kids in the classroom, which is full of routines.

Establish fun traditions- This can be something as small as a special good-bye each morning when they get on the bus, or something more elaborate like a back to school bash. Whatever it is, it will signal a transition to your kids and give them something to look forward to.

With the return of the school year, you may find yourself packing more lunches. Kids are notoriously messy.
